Steffan leads the barbering at Rapscallions, with a team who would rather get it right than get you out the door — a skin fade that is actually clean, a beard shaped to your face, a wet shave worth slowing down for.

You will get asked what you are after, and you will get a barber who is paying attention. It is the reason the same faces keep coming back, and bring their mates.

Grown-ups and kids, students looked after, long hair welcome. And if all you want is a clipper grade all over and twenty quiet minutes, that is a good visit too.

The room

A room worth sitting in.

Exposed brick and corrugated steel, big round mirrors, heavy barber chairs and the odd shop dog. The reviews mention the atmosphere as often as the haircut — chill, great vibe, cultured chat.

It is a shop built to be somewhere you would happily wait: a record on, a brew going, no rush to turn the chair over.

You will find us on Dyson Place, just off Sharrow Vale Road, in among the shops and cafés.
